easily negotiate a great real estate deal just like Trump. Recently we saw one client working with 2 realtors (which is already a bad move), then choose to negotiate directly with an owner of a property he wanted to purchase. I know what you are thinking, squeeze out the realtor and get a better price, but in this situation he was adamant with the seller that the realtors are still paid their commission, yet he insisted in negotiating the price directly with the seller. The ironic and predictable part is that he negotiated a terrible deal and in the end will be overpaying.

In any sort of negotiating the key is information. The more info you possess the more leverage you have. As professional realtors who work and live in Costa Rica full time, we are the ones that have the info that provide the leverage in those negotiations. We know what land costs, who needs to sell, comparable sales, everything that is required to get buyers their best price. Working directly with a seller only puts you at risk. If you are looking to purchase real estate in Costa Rica, find a great realtor and leave the negotiations to him/her. You might have read Donald’s book and think you can be like him, but truth is even Donald uses realtors!
