Let’s get to the point. Many people want to experience that special feeling of finding some hidden gem, a property at unbelievable price, some spectacular opportunity all on their own, but I’m here to tell you it’s a mistake, in fact it’s one of the biggest mistakes I see in Costa Rica. There is no official MLS in Costa Rica. Without the help of a knowledgeable and reputable realtor you simply won’t be able to find the detailed information and insight that you need to assess properties in Costa Rica. Comparable, sold properties, replacement values, land values, market analysis, all of this knowledge is what you need to truly assess a property in Costa Rica. In fact many sellers in Costa Rica are just as informed and misguided on the value of their own property which just adds to the confusion that much more.
