There are many cardrooms in Costa Rica, each is part of a full-service casino that features most of the games American casinos offer. Although not ornately decorated like some of the glitzy, neon-decked casinos in the USA, the cardrooms in Costa Rica offer a certain attitude that a guest would remember fondly long after returning home.[...] One thing that both cardrooms have in common is the friendliness of the clientele. You definitely will be made to feel at home while playing poker in Costa Rica. Procedures and rules are sometimes less strict than what you might used be to, but once you play for a while, you will see that there is really no problem with anything. Locals are very fair and ethical and they play as hard against each other as they do against their foreigners, making for great competition as well as camaraderie. There is no such thing as a discipline problem and time outs are unheard of. The normal pre-tournament warning lecture by the director is totally unnecessary here and is therefore eliminated from the speech! The entire venue is more like that of a home game than anything else, and everyone has a good time, win or lose.
